I’m sharing with you my animation for a video essay by Aidana Amanzhol, featured in the second issue of the online anthology Horizon. Year-long project explores the institution of baksy, the spread of Islam combined with Tengrism, and the influence of Soviet Union policies. One of the main characters in the film is Bifatima. This report includes expert interviews, documentary footage, animation, and the participation of the whole team.
